Privacy Policy

Deepwork: Pomodoro Focus Timer · Effective 17 October 2026

In short

This policy explains what information the Deepwork app ("Deepwork", "we", "us") handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Deepwork Android app.

1. Data stored on your phone

To work, Deepwork saves the following on your device:

This data is not sent anywhere unless you turn on cloud backup (section 3). It is excluded from Android's device backup. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

2. Optional account

You can use every core feature without an account. If you choose to sign in, we use Firebase Authentication (a Google service):

Firebase also records when the account was created and last signed in.

3. Cloud backup and sync (Deepwork Pro)

If you are signed in and have Deepwork Pro, copies of the data in section 1 (activities, targets, tracked targets, sessions and settings) are stored in Cloud Firestore under your account, so they can be restored after a reinstall or on a new phone. Access is limited to your own signed-in account. We use this data only to back up and sync your progress.

4. Purchases

Deepwork Pro is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we receive only the status of your purchase so the app can turn Pro on. We never see your card or payment details. See Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Permissions

Deepwork asks for or uses: notifications (to show the running timer and when a session ends), exact alarms (so a session ends on time while your phone sleeps), vibration, a foreground service (to keep the timer running) and starting after the phone restarts (to restore a running timer). None of these are used to collect personal data. Deepwork does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

6. Service providers

We use Google services to provide accounts, cloud backup and purchases: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Google Play. To deliver these services and protect against abuse, Google processes technical information such as your IP address. Your data may be stored on servers outside your country. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy information.

7. What we don't do

8. Keeping and deleting your data

Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription; cancel it in Google Play.

9. Your choices and rights

You can export your sessions as CSV, or everything as JSON, from Settings › Backup and sync › Export my data, for free. You can ask us to access, correct or delete the data held in your account, and depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us at the address below.

10. Security

Data sent between the app and Google's servers is encrypted in transit. Cloud data is protected by rules that allow only your signed-in account to read or write it.

11. Children

Deepwork is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
